The Morning Stretch
A playful moment captured in relief — a dachshund pauses in the familiar ritual of stretching before the day begins, with a cup of coffee close at hand. I wanted to give the piece a sense of personality and quiet humor, turning an ordinary morning moment into a small celebration of comfort, companionship, and everyday life.
The expression of the eyes became an important part of the process, as I explored several versions before finding the one that captured the dog’s particular morning mood.
